Social bookmarking is one of those things you have to form a habit with. It takes time, but the payoff will be great. :)

Re: Social Bookmarking 101 – What Is It and How Does It Work?

I have found propeller to be a good one as well. Scribefire (an add-on for Firefox) allows you to bookmark your post on Delicious using the same tags you put in the meta keywords. An interesting approach to bookmarking your site as you go.

I also use Gmarks to keep up with my bookmarks but wish it would link up with Delicious. I think in another post you had mentioned Shareaholic as being a fantastic add-on for improving your efficiency with social bookmarking.

Good information. I am looking forward to reading the next set of posts.

Re: Social Bookmarking 101 – What Is It and How Does It Work?

@Karriann - Thanks. I hope it's all making sense. Had meant to get another couple posts up last week but had a minor computer crash and had to do some fancy footwork to save my data! All this talking about saving bookmarks, let's not forget to save & backup!! Hope to see much more of you in the days to come.

@Jim - I like those tips you shared on your habits. It's like exercising...we all want to see results but we have to make lifestyle changes to make it happen. Glad I was your pick!! ;-)

Re: Social Bookmarking 101 – What Is It and How Does It Work?

I love the simple way that your explaining the Social Bookmarking tactics.

Re: Social Bookmarking 101 – What Is It and How Does It Work?

I haven't looked at the social side yet, I can't get any free time it is all spent on Twitter, Facebook and Freindfeed..

But I do plan on spending some time organizing my D account and checking out the networking. It's just scheduled down the road a bit...

Re: Social Bookmarking 101 – What Is It and How Does It Work?

@Jim: I have to confess, my tagging habits had been sad. But, I have begun moving myself over to web based bookmarking. No more worries about whether I have my laptop or cell on me! Have you used the social side of Delicious or just the bookmarking?

Re: Social Bookmarking 101 – What Is It and How Does It Work?

I would say that Delicious has changed my habits. I used to spend a day organizing my bookmarks, blah blah... Now, I just tag it on D. I can go there any time I want from anywhere and search by tag.

And, that's not even the social part...
